In Person Assistance Offered for Access Health CT

Starting on November 15, Valley United Way will be hosting Maggie Sessa, In Person Assisters with Access Health CT, to assist people with the new health insurance plans being offered through Access Health CT. Maggie is an RN working with Community Outreach & Parish Nursing at Griffin Hospital and is a Certified In-Person Assister with Access health CT.

Access Health CT is Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace. The market place will provide one stop shopping for your health insurance. It is the only place where Connecticut residents to get tax savings from the government. All the health plans with Access Health Ct have been approved by the CT Insurance Department and are name-brands. The plans all cover the 10 essential health benefits.1.Ouppatient Services [ambulatory care]
2. Emergency Services
3. In-Hospital Care [hospitalization]
4. Maternity and New Born Care
5. Mental Health and substance abuse services, including behavioral health treatment
6. Prescripton drug
7. Rehabilitative services and devices
8. Laboratory services and tests
9. Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
10. Pediatric [children’s health and well-child care] services, including dental and vision care

You may apply for your health care coverage on the Access Health CT on the website,, using the call in center [1-855-805-4325] or seeing an IN –Person Assister such as Maggie. The In-Person Assister will help explain with the health insurance application, answere questions and do the application with you. The In-Person Assister has been trained and certified by the State of CT.
