Pat Tarasovic, Volunteer Center Director at Valley United Way, Jennifer Bull, United Way Board Member, and Freddy Dapp, Agency Representative from the Boys & Girls Club came out to be the judges. After trying 15 home cooked chilies the three judges had to choose The Most Original, The Most Traditional, The Hottest, and The Chili Champion! After a very hard decision and several glasses of water the winners were selected. Marcin Kossakowski, Chili Champion, Ron Canelli, Hottest Chili , Jeff Nelson, Most Traditional, and Ferdinand Gojani, Most Original.

Larry Janesky speaks on the importance of giving back to the community

Basement Systems kicked off their campaign with the Crock-Pot Cookoff.  Once a month, employees can sign up to cook a crock-pot dish that will be served for lunch in the cafeteria.  During lunchtime employees can pay $6 for a bowl and help themselves to the delicious crock-pot meals.  All proceeds from the lunches will go to benefit Valley United Way.  In addition to the crock-pot cook off, Basement Systems held a traditional employee giving campaign.  Larry Janesky and Dan Fitzgerald of Basement Systems spoke, along with Jack Walsh from Valley United Way.  We even had our special guest from the Boys and Girls Club, Freddy Dapp teen member at the Shelton location.

A delicious crock-pot cookoff!
